Charity golf tournament for St. Francis

KILLALOE – September 2 was a great day for friends to be out enjoying themselves on the golf course.

That day, the Friends of St. Francis held their 12th annual fundraising golf tournament at the Homestead at Wolf Ridge.

It takes a lot of organizing and many dedicated volunteers to put on such an event. There was a full slate of golfers again this year, with 152 players making up 38 teams.

“We continue to be blessed with the support from our wonderful event and hole sponsors,” said Toni Lavigne Conway, executive director for the foundation. “We simply could not run such a successful tournament as this without the generosity of so many, including additional gift donors we had this year for the silent auction.”

Money raised from this event will go to providing more services and equipment for the hospital.

This year like other years, the folks who counted the score sheets have a couple of mystery holes in which they deduct a stroke or two from everyone’s score card. The winning team ended up with a score of 53. The winning team members consisted of Bruce Sullivan, Bart Lynch, Allan Coulas and Eddie Price. Way to go guys and congratulations.
