KILLALOE – Canada Day was celebrated in style in Killaloe-Hagarty-Richards Township on July 1.
The day began with a kid’s fishing derby at Natural Waters Trout Farm, sponsored by the KHR Fire Department. Kids were able to catch one fish for free and enter their name entered into a draw for some prizes.
Over in Killaloe, the fire department held a fundraising ducky race on Brennan’s Creek. For a few dollars, tickets could be purchased, with proceeds going back to the department. Hundreds of ducks were released down the river, and the first three that crossed the finish line won prizes.
