Bosco triumphant at Partridge Run

WILNO – Schools from all over the Valley took part in the annual Partridge Run on September 20.
Hundreds of students gathered at St. Mary’s Catholic School to participate in the various cross-country runs throughout the day.
Rod Minns, who coordinates the event and is a teacher at St. Mary’s Catholic School, said the annual runs have been happening every year since around 1987. It was started by Phil Chester and Minns came on board shortly after.
“When I first did the Partridge Run it was a small event,” Minns explained.
Now, hundreds of kids look forward to the annual run.
Minns credited the volunteers that helped make the event a success and thanked the Ontario Provincial Police for helping keep the kids safe during the race.
Nick Kozanski from Palmer Rapids Public School earned the Outstanding Boy trophy and Laura Yantha from St. John Bosco Catholic School earned the Outstanding Girl trophy. Both students came first in several races.
