Bonnechere Provincial Park celebrates 50 years

BONNECHERE – Bonnechere Provincial Park celebrated 50 years during the week of July 8 to 16.

In part with this, it is also the 25th anniversary for the Friends of Bonnechere.

“There is a lot of celebrating for them as well. Saturday we started off with a pipe ceremony with Algonquin elder and a few speeches then we got into some hot dog and cake,” said Jason Mask, parks superintendant.

Throughout the week, the park hosted an interactive concert for history buffs, a guided river tour, a hike along with many other events to look back on the history of the park.
