BLR inaugural meeting

PALMER RAPIDS– At the December 4 Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan  (BLR) inaugural council meeting, there were presentations for four outgoing council members and an oath of office/declarations of office was taken by new council members.

The meeting was held at the Palmer Rapids Community Centre.

Steve Jessup served as BLR Councillor for four years and received an award for his service. Jessup cited that he was focusing on other commitments in his life at this time.

“Hat’s off to everyone that threw their hat into the ring and the nominees that were elected. It’s a tough go, there’s no doubt about it, there’s a lot of tough decisions that have to be made. Good luck to the rest of you,” Jessup said.

Next, Clerk Michelle Mantifel handed outgoing Councillor Heather Phanenhour her plaque for four years of dedication.

“There was never any question of your thoughts and your opinions on any issue. On behalf of the municipality, I’d like to thank you for all your hard work,” Mantifel said.

Phanenhour shared that she’d learned a lot during her four years as councillor and wished the incoming council members good luck.
