KILLALOE – Attendees were happily yelling out “Bingo!” on April 30, during the school council fundraiser held in St. Andrew’s parish hall.
The bingo is an annual event which is normally held during Sno-Fun weekend, but was delayed due bad weather at that time.
Bingo lovers kept a close eye on their cards while the numbers were called out by Christine Petroskie. Michelle Tomasini was on hand to record the bingo numbers once Petroskie had announced them.
Mary Van Gool, school council chair, explained that the money raised goes into the council funds and is then used, as the need arises, to help with the cost of excursions, as well as providing money to each of the classrooms.
Teachers can then use the money allotted to purchase items such as books, and stickers for the kids as a means of encouragement. One class purchased a Cricut machine one year, and it is now utilized by everyone to help decorate the school bulletin board.
Winners took home prizes of $30 cash for the regular games, with three special 50/50 games being held, as well as a special article game.
