Be on the lookout for MV resident performing bizarre tasks

BARRY’S BAY – If you see local resident Kristin Marchand handing out hugs downtown, walking around in an outfit made of cheese or singing opera in the rain, don’t worry. She hasn’t lost her marbles.

She’s participating in the Greatest International Scavenger Hunt the World Has Ever Seen (G.I.S.H.W.H.E.S.). It’s a global movement, founded by Supernatural actor Misha Collins, which is part silliness, part art, part kindness and 100 per cent fun.

“I heard about it from my daughter who lives in Halifax,” Marchand told the Gazette.

Marchand and her daughter Danielle took part in the competition last year with a team consisting of 15 people from around the world.

“There were some people we knew and that she knew and that other people that we’ve never heard of,” Marchand said. “It was fun.”

Participants are given one week to perform a list of objectives that are equal parts challenging, thrilling and absurd. Objectives are split between the teammates, who must submit proof, either video or photos, that they have completed an objective.
