Anthony Isadore Yarascavitch

April 4, 1939 – August 5, 2019

Tony was called by God while at the Ottawa
Civic Hospital on August 5, 2019. Loving husband
of Doreen (nee Dorzek) of 55 years. He was born
on April 4, 1939 in Halfway, Ontario. He was the
youngest son of and predeceased by his parents
Peter and Magdalen (nee Yantha) and siblings
Ambrose, Alexander, Mary (Lehovitch), Frank,
Benedict, Maxie, Michael, Mark, Patrick, Edward
and Joseph. He is survived by his sister Theresa
(Huntington).
Tony was a farmer and a carpenter by trade and spent several years as
custodian of St. Mary’s Church in Wilno. He remained a charismatic, social
man in his retirement with a love of storytelling and his trucks. He will be sadly
missed by his many nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends.
Visitation took place at Huebner Funeral Home on Friday, August 9, 2019
from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at St.
Mary’s Catholic Church by Fr. Roman Majek and Fr. Lacey of Combermere
on Saturday, August 10, 2019. Thank you to Megan O’Malley who read
during the funeral service.
Pallbearers were Earl O’Malley, Martin Yarascavitch, Damon O’Malley, Joe
Dombroskie, Joe Yarascavitch, and Jack Oatman. Honorary pallbearers
were David Yarascavitch, Kevin Yarascavitch, Kenneth Yarascavitch,
Michael Yarascavitch, Arthur Schulist and Kenny Lehovitch. Choir services
were lead by Joe Platt. Thanks to Sylvester and Susan Prince and their helpful
staff for meal services after the mass.
Thank you to all the family and friends for the phone calls and cards. Special
thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Ottawa Civic ICU and St. Francis
Memorial Hospital and especially to Dr. Joseph Cybulski for the many
years of care. Also thanks to the Knights of Columbus and St. Mary’s Rosery
Society.
Thank you again to all who came from near and far to help support the
family. God bless you all.
