BLR council chooses bid on tender for new pumper truck

PALMER RAPIDS – “There has been a lot of time spent on this,” said Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan (BLR) Fire Chief Jordan Genrick as he started his presentation for council during the October 25 special meeting.

This presentation was in regards to the township approving a bid for the purchase a new pumper truck for the department.

Genrick started his presentation by giving a timeline for council with respect to how long this process has been in the works. He said it started back in June 2014 when council was informed that three of their four pumper trucks failed the required tests. One required some minor repairs while the others were in need of quite expensive repair.

It was decided at that time that the two vehicles that needed expensive repair were going to be removed from service.

In August 2014, council discussed purchasing a new pumper tanker, and staff were directed to prepare a tender.
