Bay boy a budding TV star

OTTAWAA nine-year-old Barry’s Bay boy had a chance to help build Canada’s biggest playground and will be featured on the TVO television show Giver.

Earlier in August, Chadd Stoppa, with the help of his mom Anita Jessup, found out about the unique opportunity through Easter Seals, an organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life, self-esteem and self-determination of Canadians living with disabilities.

Chadd, who was born with spina bifida and hydrocephalus, is an Easter Seals kid and received a casting call through the organization.

Anita helped her son make a short audition tape, showcasing what Chadd does best: building, four-wheeling, sledge hockey and much more.

After a few weeks without hearing back from the casting call, the Barry’s Bay family thought Chadd didn’t get the part. But just when they weren’t expecting it, the phone rang and it was the crew, offering Chadd a part in the show.
