Class of 2016 graduates from MVDHS

BARRY’S BAY – It was a bittersweet end to four years at Madawaska Valley District High School.

On June 24, students, friends and family came together at the high school to bid farewell to the Class of 2016.

The graduation started out in similar fashion, with the 82 graduates walking in to the school’s auditorium to a thunderous applaud. Teachers, school trustees and Renfrew County District School Board representatives were on hand to celebrate the occasion.

Kaitlin McMillan read the beatitudes, in honour of Ann Marie Bloskie, who passed away 25 years ago.

Jenny Smith, master of ceremonies, welcomed everyone who filled the auditorium. She welcomed Trustee David Kaiser, who brought greetings from the Renfrew County District School Board.

She also welcomed Principal Dave Bishop, who gave the students some practical life lessons before they depart into the world.
