St. John Bosco celebrates 50 years in the community

BARRY’S BAY- Past and present students and staff gathered at St. John Bosco Catholic School on September 17 to celebrate the school’s golden anniversary.

The evening began with the Liturgy of the Word, delivered by Father Mervin Coulas and Father Christopher Shalla.

“This is a day to rejoice, as all of us here celebrate this milestone and the history of Catholic education,” Fr. Coulas said. “Many students have passed through the doors of this school and have received from dedicated teachers, an excellent Catholic education.”

He gave thanks to the parents, teachers, principals and students who have supported the school throughout its 50 years in the community.

‘May St. John Bosco, your patron, continue to bless this school as it continues to be a beacon of hope for students of today and tomorrow,” Fr. Coulas said.

Following the liturgy, Fr. Coulas blessed the school.
