Miss Teen Ontario East preparing for Miss Teenage Canada

BARRY’S BAY – Theresa Paplinskie will be heading to Toronto in August, representing Barry’s Bay and Eastern Ontario in the Miss Teenage Canada 2015 Pageant.

She will be travelling down on August 2 to the location, and will be there until the Miss Teenage Canada Pageant on August 9.

“Just recently, maybe last week, I began to feel a little turning in my stomach, slightly anxious, and definitely a very excited feeling,” Paplinskietold the Gazette. “I am also feeling very supported, cared for and loved. My family, friends, and community members have been incredibly supportive. I am so thankful for that support.”

In order to prepare, Paplinskie has been busy organizing several fundraisers for Miss Teenage Canada’s focus charity, Free the Children. She is hoping to raise at least $6,000. If she raises the most, she will be fast tracked to the top 20 and have the chance to travel to Africa on three-week Me to We trip.

One fundraiser that she organized was a ball hockey scrimmage on July 22 in Barry’s Bay. Dozens of kids registered and played in the junior division (for kids aged eight to 14) and the senior division (15-18). A total of $200 was raised.
