Kaitlin McMillan named Miss Madawaska Valley

BARRY’S BAY – There were 14 contestants, three wardrobe changes, many laughs and a few tears, but only one was named Miss Madawaska Valley 2015.

On February 12, the community gathered at the upstairs lounge at the Paul J. Yakabuski Community Centre for the first annual Miss Madawaska Valley pageant.

Contestants (and the businesses they represented) included:

Sable Kluke (Heavenly Touch Spa,) Summer Norlock (Ash Grove Inn,) Madi Bellisle (Vintage Shoppe,) Kaitlin McMillan (Madawaska Outdoors,) Allison McRae-Mask (Stedmans Department Store,) Miranda Robbins (Charlie D’s,) Karly Coulas (Barry’s Bay Shell,) Bridget Luckovitch (Trends Salon,) Lindsey Stamplecoskie (Dixie Lee,) Claudia Bruder (Cat Nap & Lazy Dog Pet Outfitters,) Destiny Dombroskie (Barry’s Bay Ultramar,) Tiffany Yakabuskie (Vito’s Pizzeria,) Miranda Pecarskie (Barry’s Bay Metro,) and Tori Voldock (The Valley Gazette.)

Organizer and reigning Miss Ontario East Theresa Paplinskie welcomed everyone to the event. Paplinskie decided to organize the pageant to fundraise money for the organization, Free the Children. It is a prerequisite for Paplinskie to fundraise money for the charity, in order to compete in the Miss Teenage Canada 2015.
