July 9, 1946 - January 4, 2017  After a relatively short but aggressive battle with cancer, Garry passed away peacefully on January 4, 2017, with his loving wife and family by his side. He was born in Combermere, Ontario, the youngest of six children born to Howard and Phyllis (McMahon) Mayhew. He will be greatly missed by his wife Wannita (Quade), his daughter Pamela (Michael), and his son Troy (Natasha). Also sadly missed by his surviving sisters, Claudia Yarascavitch, Betty Gulick (Glen), Dale Halliday and sister-in-law Rita (Holly/Mayhew) Harrington and their families. He will also be fondly remembered and missed by his in-laws, Desmond & Shelby Quade, Kathleen Kauffeldt, Shirley & Garry Carneigie, Barbara & Morley Bowes, Charlotte & Dick Kuehl, Dawson & Daphinee Quade, Kenny O’Brien and Glenn Quade and their families. He was predeceased by his parents, his eldest brother Kenny, his eldest sister Freida Teske (late Dennis) and more recently his niece Joan Teske. His funeral was held at Holy Canadian Martyrs Church in Combermere on January 7, 2017. Garry spent his childhood and “growing up” years in Combermere where he made many life-long friends. His career with Ontario Hydro led him to Perth, Ontario where he spent the next thirty-five years working, raising his family and creating many cherished friendships. Through the years, Garry and Wannita kept close ties with their beloved Combermere and Quadeville and would agreeably say that this was “home” for them. Rest in peace Garry.
You will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved you.
